Let Go and Shine!

Let Go and Shine What is one of lifeʼs most difficult but easiest lessons to learn? Itʼs something innate in all of us, but at times, the most difficult to appreciate and accept: self-love. This is a personal lesson for me and dare I say, part of my soulʼs purpose. I give love freely and effortlessly to others, but when it comes to myself, I am my own worst critic. For me, the lesson of self-love, is a constant work in progress.

Every day I acknowledge my self-imposed restraints and make a conscious effort to release them. Some days are easier than others, but the goal is to continue moving forward with kindness for yourself. Iʼve found in my spiritual journey that you must do the work which at times can be exhausting, but what Iʼve learned is the work is not really work. The work simply helps you focus on the path of self discovery. In the end, itʼs the work that sets your free.

Being critical of yourself can be exhausting. It can feel like you are on the never-ending hamster wheel. How delicious can it be to let go of the critical thoughts and finally accept who you are and fully embrace the beautiful person youʼre meant to be? Once you accept and release the constraints of who you should be, or things that you would change, you can finally come home to yourself. You are with yourself every second of every minute, of everyday. You start the day with yourself and end the day in the sanctity of you. Release your judgments of yourself. Release the expectations of who you should be and how you can be better. Release the past. The past was a lesson to be learned. The past does not define you or own you. Release the judgment imposed on you by others.

Remember that those who judge you, are judging themselves tenfold. Free yourself from the ties that bind you. Release your inhibitions, breathe, forgive yourself and move forward. We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. Find the joy in all that you do and all that you are. You are eternally loved and supported in the journey called life. Relish in who you are and how far youʼve come. Every moment, every step, got you where you are now.

Honor yourself everyday by acknowledging who you are. Wear the clothes you want, love who you want, get tattoos, sing in your car, collect feathers, dance to the beat of your soul. It doesnʼt matter if you think you look silly, or youʼre not good at something. What matters is that you show up and be the person your soul wants you to be. Free your soul from from the confines of the walls you built. Accept the beauty of the uniquely amazing person that you are. The world needs you just the way you are. Be kind to yourself in this journey. Feed your soul and be you. Love all that you are, where you have been and what is to come. Be your own star now and always.
