The Full Sturgeon Moon

Full moons occur when the moon is exactly on the opposite side of the Earth from the sun. If the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow, we see a lunar eclipse — but that doesn’t happen every month because the moon’s orbit is slightly inclined, so the moon usually misses the shadow. Full moons occur about every 29.5 days, which is just a little bit longer than the moon’s orbital period. The reason is that the Earth is moving around the sun, so that by the time the moon gets to the same place it was in its last pass, the Earth isn’t directly between the moon and sun anymore. 

This moon is also known as a Full Moon in Aquarius. This is a time that it meant to remind us that we are not alone. Aquarius is a fixed air sign that is associated with equality, group consciousness and the Higher Mind. This is also a time to help us move forward into realizing the importance of service to others and how you plan to make this world a better place in your own unique way. We each have our own special gifts that we were meant to use in our lifetimes. Now is the time to learn what those gifts are so that you may help the world with some much needed healing.

Now is a great time to learn how to manifest by working with the Moon as it is a great tool to help us boost our intentions. When working with a “Full Moon”, the goal is to shed anything from your life which no longer serves you. This would include dropping any bad habits or relationships or just a bad situation which you wish to remove from your life. You start by setting the intention during a “Full Moon” event (like tonight’s). With each day, as the moon’s light wanes smaller and smaller, so shall this thing you wish to shed from your life. By the time the moon enters the “New Moon” phase, you should be successful in reaching your goal.

The opposite shall be true from the beginning of a “New Moon”. If there is something in which you would like to gain in your life, set the intention on the 1st day of a “New Moon” and as you watch the moon’s light grow in the night sky, you will find yourself closer to reaching your goal of manifesting something positive in your life. Learning how to work with the moon can help you add a very powerful dynamic to your life. Use the moon as an ally – it’s always there when you need it and it certainly isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The moon is the bringer of life here on the planet. Without it, we may be lost, so you may as well learn how to use it’s magic every chance you get.
